Barrie Pace Going Out of Business Sale: Clothes From $5.80 & Up

Barrie Pace Going Out of Business Sale

Barrie Pace is going out of business and has marked most of their stock down by 50-75%, and they are also offering an additional 80% off by using promo code FINAL80 at checkout. After these discounts, many of their items are priced between $5 and $10 – it’s no .50 cent cocktail dress, but still a good deal nonetheless, especially since they carry a lot of formal wear. If you need an outfit for a wedding or other special event, you should definitely check it out.

I got this lace-trimmed floral dress and this cowlneck jersey dress for a total of $26.10, which includes shipping. According the website, the cost for both of these dresses before markdowns and promo code was $316(!!!).

I’m guessing these clothes will get snatched up quickly, so if you’re interested, I would place an order soon – just bear in mind, all sales are final since they are going out of business.

Thanks, Money Saving Mom!

Using My Victoria’s Secret Rewards Card

Victoria's Secret

Last month I ordered a Victoria’s Secret hoodie and received a “Secret Rewards Card” with my order. This card is valid through the end of April, so if you also received one during this sale, be sure to use it soon! Each card is worth a minimum of $10, as mine was, but some are worth up to $500. Here’s how you can find out what’s on yours – add an item to your shopping cart and proceed to checkout. On the last page prior to placing the order, you will be able to enter in your card number and check the balance. If you have more than $10 on your card, you can keep shopping and add more items. I ended up buying 4 pairs of underwear on clearance that came to $11.96. Shipping is $5.99, so my total after Rewards Card was $7.95. This works out to $1.98 per pair, which is comparable to Ross prices; so all in all, a decent sale on a practical item. I also shopped through Ebates, although I had to reboot my computer halfway through my purchase and I forgot to re-open the tracking ticket – whoops! – so it probably won’t register the cashback for this purchase.

Custom Photo Stamps For .33 Cents Each, Including Shipping – Today Only

Custom photo stamps

Custom photo stamps that I ordered last year through a similar offer

With all this talk about coupon trading, I thought this was a good deal to share – you can end up using a lot of stamps doing trades, so what better way to maximize your saving than by getting a discount on postage! Click here to read a post on Money Saving Mom explaining how you can get inexpensive custom photo stamps today only through Snapfish. To make this deal even better, use Ebates or ShopAtHome (If you’re not familiar with them, check out my article about online rebates to learn more), as they both offer 7.5% cashback on Snapfish orders. What I did was add the $10 credit and save the photo stamps to my shopping cart, and then closed the window and loaded up ShopAtHome. I paid 19.96 total for 3 sheets of 20 first-class stamps – this includes shipping – and I will get $1.49 back through ShopAtHome, which will make the final cost per stamp around .30 cents. That’s a .14 cents savings per stamp! ETA: Money Saving Mom says that she is not sure if this coupon code can be combined with cashback from ShopAtHome. But even if that is the case, the stamps are still only .33 cents each!
This is a great way to save on a necessary practical item, plus you get to have the fun of putting your own photo on it.

My Victoria’s Secret Order

Thursday, March 25th, 2010

Here’s my $14.99 hoodie and “Secret Rewards Card” from the last Victoria’s Secret promotion. This hoodie is exactly what I was looking for, so I’m very happy with it. I won’t know the value of my rewards card until I try shopping with it in April, so I’ll let you know what happens!

Did you order anything during this promo? If so, what did you get?

Victoria’s Secret – Free Shipping & Gift Card, TODAY ONLY

Friday, March 12th, 2010

Victoria's Secret

The last time I posted a Victoria’s Secret deal, many of you wrote in to tell me how it saved you money – so naturally I had to share this one with you as well! For today only, March 12th, Victoria’s Secret is offering free shipping when you use coupon code SHIPFREE. There are lots of items on clearance, and every order will receive a “Secret Rewards Card”, which is a store credit that you can use online or in-store from April 1st through the 30th. You won’t know the amount of the gift card until you make a purchase with it, but it will be valued between $10, $50, $100, or $500 – so at the very least, you’ll get a $10 credit with your order. More details on the Secret Rewards program can be found here. I’m not sure how redeeming it will work, since it says the value is not revealed until checkout, but I imagine you’d be able to edit your order during the checkout process – IE, if I buy a $10 bra and find out that my credit is worth $50, I would think that I could click “continue shopping” or something of that nature and add other products to the order. However, I’ll have no way of knowing until I try it, so fair warning!!

Here’s some deal ideas:

1. Head over to either Ebates or ShopAtHome, as they both offer 2% cashback at Victoria’s Secret. If you are new to these sites, you will also receive a $5 bonus for signing up – read my article “How I Save Money With Online Rebates” for more info.

2. Click over to the clearance section of Victoria’s Secret and check out the prices. They have panties on sale for 5/$15, clearance beauty items for $2.99 and up, and lots of other stuff.

3. Use coupon code SHIPFREE at checkout.

4. Receive inexpensive clothing and the Secret Rewards Card for $10 or higher.

To the best of my knowledge, Victoria’s Secret enforces a limit on these promotions to one per customer; so if you plan on buying five items, you will receive one rewards card. From what I understand, you cannot split your order into five transactions to get five rewards cards – your orders would be canceled. Just FYI!

This deal came at just the right time for me, because I was at Ross earlier in the week looking for a hoodie. I really need a new one, but I’ve been having a hard time finding any that suit my style. I found a hoodie in the PINK line for $14.99 that I really like – and the hoodies I saw at Ross were $20+, so it’s cheaper as well. (I just hope the zipper on this one is a little more durable than the last VS hoodie I bought!) I will also get a small rebate from Ebates, as well as the mystery gift card – I’ll keep you updated and let you know if the card results in any good deals.

Big thanks to Common Sense With Money for the info on this deal!

Online Deals: 100 Free Christmas Cards

Friday, November 20th, 2009

Jai and I took photos for our Christmas cards yesterday, so I’ve got cards on my mind this week. So I thought I’d share this timely deal, since it would be a great way to cut costs this holiday season. Seehere.com is offering 100 free 4×8 photo Christmas cards, complete with envelopes, free of charge. All you have to do is enter coupon code newbaby at checkout and you will receive 50 cards for free, including shipping. Then you can place a second order for another free set of cards by clicking here and using Freebies 4 Mom’s special coupon code. You can save your design during the first order and have another 50 of the same card printed with Freebies 4 Mom’s code – Money Saving Mom has full details on the promotion here, along with photos of the cards that she ordered, so yes, these really arrive and they are really free! This offer is good through November 30th.
And these aren’t just limited to Christmas cards – there are a bunch of other designs available as well. This also counts as a frugal wedding item, since you could print free save-the-date cards or invitations!

Online Purchases: Gevalia

Monday, November 16th, 2009

So I decided to make one more purchase from Gevalia before cancelling my membership. I got a 24-hour coupon in an email from them good for free shipping, so I had a poke around the site to see what kind of deals I might be able to get with it. I discovered a one-time rebate on Ebates for $5 back on any Gevalia purchase, so I bought an 8-oz box of Dark Chocolate Truffle coffee for $6.95; with free shipping and the rebate, my final price was $1.95. I cancelled my membership this afternoon, and it was quite easy and painless to do; so I’ll keep you posted and let you know if I experience any problems.

Online Purchases: Coffee & Snuggle

Sunday, October 18th, 2009

Here’s some purchases that arrived in the mail this week:

This is the $3 coffee I ordered last week. I made a batch of it this morning and so far, I’ve been enjoying it. They included some coupons in my package, one of which is a “Buy-one-get-one-free” voucher. After looking at the prices, I am considering possibly placing one more order before I cancel the membership. At first glance, it seems that it might be a lower price with the coupon than what I usually get at Safeway, if the shipping isn’t high. But I haven’t looked into it thoroughly yet, so I’ll keep you posted and let you know what happens when I do cancel the membership. Of course, I could buy canned coffee in bulk for less, but I love to buy these flavored blends because they are one of my favorite luxuries!

And this is the .38 cent Snuggle fabric softener that I bought on Sunday – .76 cents total for 52 loads. That’s roughly a penny and a half per wash, so not bad.

Have you snagged any good deals online this week?

Online Deals: Inexpensive Coats

Thursday, October 15th, 2009

I seem to be finding a lot of online deals recently, and I wanted to share this in case any of you are in the market for a new winter coat. Last night I read on SlickDeals that MetroStyle clothing is offering a coupon code for 40% off one item of clothing, which can be used on clearance items, including these clearance coats. This long faux-leather coat caught my eye – the picture you see here is the same style and color that I ordered. The coat was originally $89.99, but after the clearance reduction and coupon, it came to $17.99 + $6.99 for shipping. This looks warmer than what I have, and it’s pretty cute, so $24.98 was a good buy on an item I need. As of this writing, the coat is still available – enter MS4YOU at checkout to receive the discount.

I have a hard time finding good coats that are in the kind of style that I like and don’t cost a fortune. What’s worked for me in the past is shopping Ebay – the last coat I bought was a really nice dress jacket that was $10, and I also found a fabulous vintage fur coat for 1 penny. (Yes, 1 penny! I think the shipping was about $8.)

Weekend Deals: .38 Cent Snuggle Fabric Softener

Monday, October 12th, 2009

Have you heard of Alice.com before? It’s an online shopping site that sells items you’d find in a grocery store. The interesting thing is that they offer special online coupons and free shipping, so there is the potential for some good deals. Yesterday, they were offering 64 oz bottles of Snuggle fabric softener for .38 cents – all I had to do was sign up for a free account, add the item to my cart, and pay the .38 cents. Shipping is free and the coupon deducted automatically. You can order one sale item per person, and we’re in need of more fabric softener, so Jai and I both ordered a bottle. That’s .76 cents total for 128 ounces of fabric softener; not bad. I think the deal may be over already, but you can click here to view the Snuggle product page on Alice – I think you need to be logged in before the deal will show up, so you might need to create an account first. I would recommend checking back even if the deal is over for now, since it keeps popping up. I had initially heard about the Snuggle sale early last week, but the first time I looked it was unavailable. Then Money Saving Mom mentioned that it might be up and running again yesterday, and sure enough, I got in on the deal that time. It’s also worth keeping an eye on their “Best Deals” section – just keep in mind that you are required to order six items or more at a time after your first order.
