Shopping Trip – September 6th

Sunday, September 7th, 2008

Total Spent: $2.06
Total before coupons: $55.58

And I got:

1 bottle of salad dressing
1 bottle of ketchup
1 can of Pineapple chunks
1 can of water chesnuts
1 Crystal Light
15 packets of Kool-Aid
1 bag of Wheat Thins
4 bottles of Powerade
3 packages of lunch meat
1 package of cheese slices
1 bottle of Coffee-Mate
1 box of Kotex
1 Plug-Ins scented oil warmer
4 greeting cards
1 Sunday newspaper – more coupons!
1 package of hot dogs
1 Odwalla bar
1 bunch of bananas
About 2 lbs of grapes
1 head of Broccoli
1 large carrot

Last week, I was lucky enough to win a giveaway at Frugal Rhode Island Mama’s blog. The prize was a set of coupons from a recent copy of “All You” magazine, good for free Kraft products. They arrived today, and it was perfect timing, because I had a coupon that expired tomorrow for $10 off a $50 purchase at Safeway. The neat thing about this coupon is that it could be used in conjunction with other coupons – so if you have $40 or so in free coupons to redeem, then you can use the $10 off $50 coupon and get another ten bucks worth of stuff for free!

I also earned my tenth .10 cent fuel discount tonight – which will save me $1 off gas! Every time you accumulate $100 worth of purchases on your Safeway card, you earn .10 off gas. The great thing is, it counts your total before coupons. I have until the end of month to accrue more discounts for this reward period; how much of a gas discount do you think I’ll earn before September is out?

Shopping trip – September 5th

Saturday, September 6th, 2008

Total spent: $1.29
Total before coupons: $50.82

I got:

1 lb. of fair trade coffee
1 big box of Cheerios – I had a coupon for a free box that I got from signing up for the Cheerios Challenge. I don’t think they’re mailing out any more free coupons, but you can still sign up to get several $1 off coupons. Cheerios is often on sale, so they’re good coupons to have – I used some of the $1 coupons a few weeks ago to get 3 other boxes for free!
8 Easy Mac cups
3 6-packs of water
2 8-packs of water
1 Rolos candy
1 box of Ziploc bags
4 cans of Mighty Dog – don’t forget about the free coupon I mentioned for this yesterday!
2 lbs. of Mozzarella cheese
4 boxes of Kotex
1 loaf of bread

First shopping trips of the month – September 1st and 2nd

Wednesday, September 3rd, 2008

I kicked my September budget off with these sales:

September 1st:

Spent: $1.32
Savings after club card and coupons: $64.34

And I earned a .10 cent fuel discount, bringing me to 9 altogether!

I got:

12 bottles of Wishbone salad dressing
1 bottle of shampoo
1 bottle of conditioner
2 8 oz bags of mozzarella cheese
A pound and a half of organic bananas
2 Kiwis

And now I’ll send in my Wishbone mail-in rebate, to get a coupon for $1 off meat for buying their products!

September 2nd:

More great Safeway deals!

Total spent: .21 cents
Savings after club card and coupons: $22.75

I got:

4 more bottles of Wishbone (I better start eating a lot of salad!)
2 bottles of Sobe Lifewater
1 bottle of Powerade
1 bottle of Coffee-Mate

We also went to Rite Aid to check out their deals for this week. The Bic Sharpies are on sale for 3 for .99 cents, and I have coupons for $1 off any 2 Bic stationary products, so I got 6 markers free, plus .02 cents overage. Also pictured are 2 pairs of sweatpants; my boyfriend needed a couple of new pairs, and Rite Aid is the only place I’ve found that carries this type of sweatpant, with elasticated cuffs around the ankles – he swears by them! The sweatpants were $5.59 each, and I had a coupon for $2 off a $10 RA purchase, so altogether the total was $9.16.
